Tessa Emily Hall is an award-winning author who wrote her debut novel when she was sixteen. MY REVIEW

Thank you in advance to the author, Tessa Emily Hall, for providing an advanced electronic (PDF) review copy through JustRead Publicity Tours. A positive review was not required or requested and all thoughts are my own. 

While I am not able to review the entire physical copy (as I haven’t yet received my copy), I am able to review the content of the book. I will update the review as soon as I get the physical copy.

This is definitely designed for teens, but it could also function for younger women who are either starting into a faith journey or evaluating one.

Beautifully designed with colorful pages, this works and functions like a diary or journal with self care advice.

Recommended over a 52 week period (one year), this guides the young reader through various exercises to guide them into self acceptance based on God’s love and wisdom.

There are several sections for exercises:

** Your Journey
** Confessions
** Prayers
** Social Media challenges

The design and layout makes it VERY easy to use. And, it is also quite relevant in today’s social media usage age.

Sectioned into four different parts: 

Part One (Chapters 1-13) – Why Did God Create Me This Way?

Part Two (Chapters 14-26) – Where Do I Find My Identity?

Part Three (Chapters 27-39) – How Can I Embrace My Uniqueness?

Part Four (Chapters 40-52) – How Can I Discover My Potential and Pursue My Calling

Hall comes across as a mentor and a friend and using the bible in a way so as not to overwhelm the reader/user in an easy-to-use, friendly format.

It would make a great birthday, confirmation, or Christmas gift. I know that as a teen, I would’ve loved this book and it would’ve likely have built my self-esteem up in the pre-social media age.

Those who seek affirmation through social media will find that they do not need to and to rely on the bible as well as God.

This is the first devotional book/journal I have ever read and it is definitely one I recommend.

UPDATE: I received a physical copy on 10/23/2020 and it is STUNNING! Absolutely gorgeous. And, it completely matches the BEAUTIFUL bible I was given over 20+ years ago from my mom on my birthday. Interestingly, the author did write a beautiful sentiment to me and left a relevant bible passage. This was one of my favorite "devotionals" from the bible and I had marked it not long after receiving this bible. It seems quite relevant given what this devotional is talking about. 

I definitely recommend this devotional!!
