Thank you in advance to the author, Tracey J. Lyons, for providing a complimentary review copy through JustRead Publicity Tours. A positive review was not requested or required, and all words are my own.

This was my first introduction to the author, and I was VERY impressed by her work. I was so impressed that I went and bought a nearly-new larger print (the only available edition) of A Love for Lizzie through an Amazon third (3rd) party seller.

While it isn’t MANDATORY to read the first book, I HIGHLY suggest it as Lizzie makes a significant appearance in this one. And, she even gets into some “match-making” with Sadie.

The cover of this book is absolutely adorable and precious. I immediately fell in love with Sadie’s misadventures as well as her personality. Levi was admittedly hard to get used to, but completely understandable. The other characters were realistically written.

I loved the entire plot of the story. I could feel every emotion the characters were going through.

Lyon’s writing definitely moved the story along quite quickly. So much so that this was a “day read” for me, especially with the shorter chapters. It was very difficult to put it down for any length of time. I could barely even take notes.

The author’s writing is vivid and descriptive and you can almost feel as though you’re right there. The use of authentic Amish language makes it very realistic. There was a slight typo with a character’s name on page 19, but not so much it would hinder the overall enjoyment of the story.

Right off there is a bit of a concern, but Sadie’s handling of it is definitely not dignified, but it is amusing. However, it is Levi who comes to her rescue, and there are no sparks at first.

But, she also has another issue – her father arranging a marriage between her and older Isaiah. Clearly not a match she wants.

Levi isn’t looking for a romance either – he’s looking for a fresh start after a broken romance. And, the reason is absolutely heartbreaking. Though, he understands what Sadie is going through – they are at the time in life where everyone is talking about courtships.

It isn’t long until Isaiah and Sadie have to work together to repair the school after a storm. As a teacher, her work with Levi leads to some uncomfortable situations and scolding.

As the story progresses it isn’t really hard to see what is coming, especially on Sadie’s side. Even Levi is shocked about his own feelings.

One interesting quote on page 146 – “… you need to let go of your past. Otherwise you’ll never find the happiness you deserve” – was definitely eye-opening and endearing.

Another back-story involved a young student, Mica, who was having issues. And a confrontation between his parents and Sadie is a bit alarming. Though there is, after all, a deeper reason that will quickly be resolved.

Readers will see a shock regarding Isaiah and Sadie. And, truthfully, I did see that one coming. But, I was curious as to why Sadie’s father kept pushing her towards Isaiah as it didn’t really make sense.

Lyons kept drawing out the romance until the very end in a surprising fashion.

This is a beautiful story of not just second chances, but watching a community coming together for the greater good. This was definitely a heartwarming and loving story.

As this is distributed by Love Inspired, there will be references to faith and God, along with themes of redemption. Fans of Amish romance will more than likely love this read. If readers have read the first book, they will no doubt love this one!

I can’t wait until the next book of this series.
