Library Treasures – Bought
Yesterday (9/3) wasn’t too bad of a day to run a few errands. It started at 99° got home at 106°. Glad I went out when I did – my poor car was really hurting.
Anyway …
The reason I HAD to go out – I
had to return one DVD to the county library as it was due today (Star Wars:
Rogue One). I also dropped off some others since I was done with them (NCIS –
15; NOLA – 4) and I also had some items ready for pick up as well. I also had
some drop offs and a pick up at the city library too.
At the city library I decided to
peruse the used book area as the location I go to, has the BEST selection. I
walked away with some bargains.
[September 3, 2019 – Henderson Library (Paseo Verde Branch) book haul. As you can see one book, rather newish, was $5] |
[Three hardback books (one not pictured) and four paperbacks were only $8] |
One book was $5, but it was just
released last year, practically NEW and I save $23 on it. The reason the
receipt is $8 is that I got a hardcover for my mom, which I didn’t include in
the picture.
The paperbacks were 25¢ each. Not
bad given their condition. Two had “SLIGHT” water damage. The hardbacks were in
nearly new condition.
These are on the “TBR” list for “SOME
DAY DOWN THE ROAD”.
So far I’ve got a PILE of library
reads (County – 7/ City – 4); “tours” (listed at 4); and ARCs (okay just one
for right now).
This is also why I LOVE physical
books – they can be bought, donated, re-sold, borrowed, re-homed – you get the
idea.
Here’s a COMPLETE list of the
books I got (minus my mother’s book):
Christina Dodd – “Dead Girl Running” (Harlequin
Books, 2018)
Barbara Delinsky – “Sweet Salt Air” (St. Martin’s
Press/Griffin Press, 2015)
B.A Paris – “Behind Closed Doors” (St.
Martin’s Press/Griffin Press, 2017)
Anita Hughes – “Island in the Sea” (St.
Martin’s Press/Griffin Press, 2016)
Elin Hildebrand – “The Perfect Couple” (Little,
Brown and Company, 2018)
Donald McCaig – Ruth’s Journey: The Authorized
Novel of Mammy – Gone with the
Wind Prequel (Atira Books, 2015)
Yes, they take up a LOT of room,
but doesn’t any treasure worth having?
